A goal properly set is halfway reached.
Zig Ziglar
The most important factor is that a goal has to be measurable and it needs a clear end date. But there are a few more aspects summarized by the “SMART” method.
SMART Goals
Specific
Define your goal as clear as possible.
Measurable
You need to know if and when you have reached your goal. If you can’t measure it you’ll never know if you already succeeded or what exactly you need to do to get there.
Achievable
Your goal needs to be challenging, but shouldn’t overwhelm you. Aim high, but just so much that you stay motivated.
Reasonable
What is your “why”? Do you feel a necessity to reach this goal?
Time Bound
At last define a deadline. Again don’t set it too far in the future but give yourself some time. One advantage of using GoalJo is that it always makes sure your goals have a deadline. By default GoalJo recommends 3 months. You won’t have enough time to procrastinate much, while still having enough time to get great things done.
